In last week's news on Patreon, I shared three links about: an indie queer press, a LGBTQ+ library, and a list of queer vampire fiction.
Snakeskin Press is an independent queer press uplifting emerging queer writers. The press was founded by two nonbinary writers and they have two anthologies forthcoming, one of queer horror and one of trans erotica. (TR!LL)
This article about a LGBTQ+ lending library in Bryan, Texas, was hopeful, but also a little sad to someone like me who worked in public libraries for thirty years. These books should be easily accessible at the public library. If not in their collections, then patrons should feel safe requesting them. I know that this has never been true everywhere-- there have always been public libraries where it was not safe for LGBTQ+ people, but that is the ideal that we were moving toward, and just like with trans rights, we are moving backwards.
